The first National Assembly of the 2024/25 academic year was held in Budapest. The Organising Committee and the National Board warmly welcomed all attendees, introduced the event’s organisers, and shared the agenda.
ESN Corvinus did an outstanding job ensuring every part of the National Assembly ran seamlessly. From beginning to end, they planned an impressive line-up of social programmes that kept the energy high throughout the event.
We started Saturday with international guests from Germany, Romania, and Estonia delivering presentations about their respective NOs. Afterwards, the National Board gave interactive updates on their roles, current projects, and ongoing work, engaging the audience in a question-and-answer session. Treasurer Péter Granc provided a detailed overview of the financial situation of the NO and presented the budget update and proposal for 2025. Later, Vice-President Karina Dorka Tóth, along with International Projects Coordinator Blanka Kuti facilitated a workshop designed to strengthen collaboration between local volunteers and the National Board.
The event proceeded with a session regarding the SSO, where the NB, the AC, ESN Pécs, ESN ELTE, and ESN BME presented proposals for potential SSO modifications. The National Board then discussed their amendment proposals, which were scheduled for a vote the following day. Lastly, on Saturday, President Noémi Papp and National Representative András Szepes held a session introducing the National Youth Council(NIT), highlighting the benefits and potential drawbacks of joining.
On our second and final day, the National Board gave a presentation on how they are progressing with their Action Plan, followed by the introduction of some new support structure members. Treasurer Péter Granc held a short session raising awareness of the fact that the position of Partnership Manager is still vacant, and the open call is ongoing. Additionally, President Noémi Papp led a workshop on the future of ESN, exploring new ideas and ongoing projects, where participants could directly contribute to the new long-term strategy of ESN. After a short SSO brainstorming session, the NA continued with the voting. Later in the afternoon Vice-President Karina Dorka Tóth presented the findings and feedback from our first Local Boards’ Training.
